Simbe Robotics is known for building automation solutions for the retail industry. Their first product, Tally, is the world’s first fully autonomous shelf auditing and analytics solution. This robot provides retailers visibility and insight into the state of merchandise in their stores.
[From the Simbe Website]
“Tally works with retail associates by giving them information to ensure the store’s products are always stocked, in the right place, and displaying the correct price tag. Tally is the only robot that can do this. It combines autofocus, auto-exposure and HDR camera systems. It is powered by Intel’s RealSense 3D cameras. Another key point is that this technology allows it to navigate and analyze the store environment.
With both computer vision and RFID/Digimarc capabilities combined, Tally’s sensing system is the most advanced on the market. This enabling the robot to seamlessly scan and track products in diverse retail environments.
Finally, Tally 3.0 utilizes the NVIDIA GPU platform, enabling Tally to process real-time shelf data both on the cloud and on the edge for rapid data processing. It also powers more optimal traversals and an even better understanding of Tally’s surroundings.”
