OLogic Project Manager Point Person – Keeping Communication and Client Projects On Target

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” —Winston Churchill

With a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Lauren started out as a fitness instructor. She built her own personal training business and worked with clients as a coach to help them achieve their wellness goals.

“My favorite part was getting to know each person and coaching them past what they thought was possible.”

When we asked Lauren how she came to be a Project Manager, we learned that one day, she saw an online video about Project Management and realized it was a career opportunity that aligned with her passions of leading teams and executing projects on a larger scale. Plus, she had always dreamed of working in the tech industry in Silicon Valley!

Lauren decided to switch gears, earned her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and applied for a job at OLogic. She has been managing projects here for four years now and appreciates the variety of clients, products, and industries she gets to work with. Contributing to the success of so many amazing products reaching the people who need them gives Lauren many reasons to feel pride in her work.

Lauren admits she loves making lists and checking off the tasks, and thinking outside of the box to try and achieve the goal in a new or innovative way.  She also loves being the ambassador to our clients, keeping them in the loop about what is going on with their project as well as making them feel taken care of and that they are in good hands with OLogic.

The Project Manager’s role is to ensure that OLogic delivers the highest quality design and expertise to our clients as planned. They are the point of contact between our engineering team and our clients to ensure they are closely connected throughout the project. This requires meetings, tracking the budget and timeline, managing project risk, and mitigating any issues that may arise.

“The idea of taking a goal and breaking it down step by step is very exciting to me, and then, not only planning it out, but working with a team to accomplish it together, and the challenges and collaboration that happens along the way is so much fun and very rewarding.”

Lauren’s favorite parts about Project Management are all the communication techniques and strategies used to ensure that everyone is on the same page about what’s going on and that everyone feels listened to and understood.

“I take these skills with me in my everyday life and they have helped me in my personal relationships.”

She enjoys working with OLogic’s talented engineering team and learning new things from them every day. She also works closely with the management team at OLogic to create and improve on internal processes and procedures that are used in daily operations.

“You can learn so much from your colleagues, you just have to ask the right questions.”

Lauren takes pride in knowing how she contributed to developing parts of the business that allow OLogic to serve our clients more efficiently.

Some examples include creating and directing the recruitment process that we use at OLogic. This led to the hiring of 14 employees, and growing our team with some of our most talented people. Lauren also reconstructed the procedures for performance reviews and gave employees a structured path to manage their growth.

Not all work –

Outside of work, Lauren has taken on the challenge of learning how to DJ! She finds it a fun diversion and that her hardware tech experience from OLogic helps her to use and master the equipment. She also loves spending time with friends and family- hiking, park days, and taking classes and learning new things.

Lauren has a little gray tabby cat named Tum Tum. She got him right before the pandemic started. “He is a sweet cat and loves to cuddle! I am definitely a cat person!”

Her favorite place in the world is anywhere that she is with her family or traveling to a new place she has never been before. She cannot resist spicy margaritas and Tex Mex!

When we asked her If she could have any superpower, what would it be, Lauren answered, “it would be to cultivate a world where love and understanding triumph over animosity and division”.

Lauren leads our OLogic book club by introducing and discussing thoughtful books that require reflection and revelation. This is an arena where co-workers have an opportunity to look inside ourselves and share life lessons with each other.

We have also long suspected Lauren to be the mysterious person who kindly left uplifting notes at each of our work stations. These words are a testament to her character,

“Every master was once a beginner, and communication is everything! It is important that you are continuously learning and taking initiative in your growth and development.”
